“Can you set this unit up near an open window, or does it need a sealed suction from a window?”

• Definitely needs to vent to outside, otherwise you're just blowing hot air back into room. Comes with vent and panel for window. Also need to provide drainage for water removed from air. I use bucket and a plastic tube. Water drainage tube is NOT provided but essential. I pour out about gallon water per week

• The unit has a vent hose and window connection included. With out the vent hose connected the unit would need to be directly in front of a window to vent the hot air outside.
