- Answer Hi Your question is a little confusing. You appear to be asking whether this device can be used with both a cell phone and a portable DVD player. This device will plug into a single headphone or speaker jack on any audio device that fits, and will multiply the connections from 1 to 5 for audio output only. For example, if you have a cell phone with a headphone jack (round, 3.5mm), you can plug this in and then you and up to 4 other people can plug headphones in to share the audio (music, movie, etc.). If you have a portable DVD player that has the same type of audio output or headphone jack (round, 3.5mm), you can plug this in and do the same thing: attach up to 5 headphones to share the audio. It cannot be used with any “ac in/output”, only headphone/speaker or audio output. Hope that helps.

QuestionIf I use this to plug my Razer Tiamat headset into my computer (it has 5 jacks and my computer has 1...) will the mic work? and will it work with the 7.1 surround sound?

- Answer No. This only shares the stereo audio out. The splitter does not have any mic input.
