“The product is called "6" Controller Extension Cable..." and the pic looks like opposite ends of the same cable. Will I need to buy 2 extension cables to cover both controllers? Or should 1 purchase by itself, cover both controllers? Thanks.”

NES classic only comes with one controller. There is only one extension cable in the box.
