“I have a Lenovo 510 laptop (no HDMI port) but has a DisplayPort. I have a Sony Brava TV (has HDMI port). I purchased this cable to display the computer on the TV. I cannot get the computer to detect the TV. No signal on TV. Am I doing something wrong?”

Try changing the input source on your TV to the HDMI port that the cable is connected to. This can usually be done by using the remote control and navigating through the TV's settings menu. Check your laptop's display settings to make sure it is set to display on an external monitor.
