Thank you for your inquiry! The Insignia™ 6' DisplayPort to HDMI Cable is a passive adapter, not an active one. Passive cables rely on the source device (in this case, your CalDigit hub) to support dual-mode DisplayPort (DP++), which allows it to output an HDMI signal directly.
