“Size container? I do not see in the spec the size of container the shedder will set on both with the slide out in or out and I didn't see reviewers saying even thou they had complaints about it. I would be interested to know both slid in and out. Thanks.”

This is about a 3 gallon bucket type basket. The shredder actually sits on top in a slotted holder. To empty you unplug the unit and detach it from the basket easily in a upward motion. I usually place a shopping bag over it and dump it.

IMO, a cross-cut shredder, with its own container, is the best way to go. Of course, I got this one at a ridiculously low price... so there is some trade-off.
