• Verify that in audio output the digital audio format is set to auto . My sound bar picked up through optical perfectly.

• On the TV the setting doesn’t need to be changed. I’ve had this happen on a Yamaha System. The surround sound would come through when set on DVD instead of TV or AUX. Another thing to check is make sure you optical cord is plugged in properly and good. 2 common problems that are a simple fix.
