There TV has a built in pause/rewind function for broadcast channels that works great! I have other TVs with Fire TV platform and they all have this ability. You can also rewind, fast forward and skip back or ahead on any buffered video from broadcast channels. (There are a few broadcast channels where this doesn't work and it seems to be the result of weak broadcast signal for those channels.) This is an awesome feature that not many seem to know or talk about. My friends are amazed with they see me pause and restart live TV. The Fire TV will buffer about 5 minutes of broadcast video right out of the box but if you plug in a usb memory stick and format it as “external” memory from the “Settings > Device & Software > USB Drive” menu you can extend the buffer for up to two hours or more depending on the size of the USB memory stick you are using ( I use a 32 gb memory stick). Please note that when it reformats the usb drive all data on that memory stick will be wiped out. Now I just wish they would setup this feature to allow recording and saving a broadcast video for playing later.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can use a Fire TV Recast to record Live TV.
