Thank you for your inquiry! It’s great to hear that your Insignia™ 7 Cu. Ft. Garage Ready Upright Convertible Freezer is working well! However, having the back of the freezer pressed directly against the wall is not ideal. Most upright freezers, including this model, require at least a few inches of clearance—typically around 2 to 4 inches—between the back of the unit and the wall. This space is important to allow for proper airflow and ventilation around the compressor and coils. Without it, the freezer may overheat or operate less efficiently over time. Since yours is functioning fine now, it’s not an emergency, but it would be a good idea to pull it out slightly to ensure better long-term performance and energy efficiency. Keith | Insignia Support
