“i have the 70 inch fire tv. my internet speed is 25 mb/s. i am trying to watch 4k movies on the tv and it will only play in 1080p. is there a setting that i have wrong? i have turned everything but the tv off to make sure it is still fast enough.”

You might have 25mb/s at your router but the TV might be picking less than that. Use the Silk browser and navigate to speedtest.net, fast.com or speedtest.xfinity.com to see check the tv’s bandwidth. Your tv’s distance from the router, wifi connection and type of cable matter. If you use wifi bring the tv closer to the router and use 5ghz wifi, and get a faster router, if hardwired get a better quality cable. But 5gz wifi can be faster than hardwired ethernet if the tv is close to the router and you have a fast router.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.i'd like to add that my modem and router can both handle speeds of 300 mb/s. It is plugged in using a cat 5 cable. So it isn't my hardware outside the tv.
