“I want a system that does not rely on batteries. In other words can I plug into a 110v outlet? Can I do this with this system? If not what would you recommend?”

Hey Peter, to answer your question- yes, this is AC driven (110-120 volt) I purchased this because I wanted a single CD player, FM radio, but also you can plug a thumb drive full of music in and you're good to go. The system sounds pretty good too. Hope this answered other questions you might have had also.

Please try again later.Dear peter, Good morning, you search the different alternatives for connecting your system ( solar panel , inversors can you used this , always you need a one input of 110v ac because your motherboard provide differents voltage to feed the motherboard ( regulators to direct current ) exist a one transformation for alternate current with diodes , transformers , resistors etc....
