I feed a family of 4 and have leftovers, but it will cook as little or as much as you want. I just purchase the normal amount of food that I would use for a meal and use the instant pot accordingly. The only time that I have ever gone to the maximum capacity was when I made soup and it made enough for us to eat for a couple days. It would be so quick and easy to cook multiple batches of food, if needed for a large crowd.
