Get some red and white stereo RCA cable and plug them into the desired device and other end in the receiver.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a Samsung 40 in. HD smart TV. There"s an audio output port on the back of the set that takes a mini-plug. I use a jumper to connect it to my sound system, which has a Line-IN connection,Then I switch my sound system to "Line" on the mode selection. My TV automatically has has audio power to this port. Some TV's need you to switch to remote audio output to get power to this port. If your TV and sound system are fairly new models, they should have these connections.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You'll need to run a cable out from the television to your receiver. That way, no matter what you've got up on your TV screen from your plugins comes out from the TV into the receiver for your surround sound. Look on the back (or side, depending on your model) of your television. You should see a round 3.5mm plugin that looks like it's for headphones... OR you may see a slightly squareish port with a flap on it. That's your digital optical audio port. Either one will work you'll just need a digital optical audio cable or a standard audio cable. Run one of those to your receiver input and you'll be good to go. You may have to go into the menu on your TV remote to set the sound to go through "external speakers" instead of the TV speakers. Hope that helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You'll want to reverse the input/output. In other words use the TV surround capability (or hdmi cable) as input to the receiver, with the speakers being the output. Whereas the rci or audio component sound is output to the TV. (It becomes stereo surround by being fed thru the TV to the receiver to the speaker)
