- Answer There is no external power to it. It's just a switch so it just reroutes signals but doesn't amplify them or anything.

QuestionI have used all of the inputs on a Yamaha rx481 AVreceiver and would like to connect a cassette tape player to the system. Will this device allow me to do that?

- Answer Hi Jack. Thank you for trusting us, knowing that we will answer your question accurately. In theory, yes. This selector works best for multiple AV/RCA devices and switching between them. It's most common usage is to connect multiple AV/RCA devices to modern TV's which have only 1 AV/RCA INPUT built-in. It basically turns one input, into three. Questionhow does this product connect to the HDTV?my new SHDTV has only one port to connect devices such as a VCR & WII. I have manually disconnected the cables to use one or the other but would rather not have to do that. I need an AV switcher that can connect with something similar to an HDMI cable (or is an HDMI cable)

- Answer Sorry no HDMI inputs, only red - white - yellow plug ins. Works well with "older" units with plugs not HDMI or any other type of inputs.

QuestionSwitch between stereo and TVI have regular two channel stereo and a Samsung TV with five [no sub woofer] speaker surround sound. I would like to have a switch that will allow me to play stereo or TV trough the five speaker surround sound. Ideally, it would switch automatically, depending on the source. Thanks

- Answer There should be a 3.5 AUDIO OUT jack on the back of the Samsung TV. You can use a splitter to convert it to 2 RCA female jacks. This splitter may have come with your TV (mine did). Then you can use a standard RCA male/male cable to connect it to your theater system's RCA AUX IN port. I used this with an Insignia RCA switch to also connect my external 5-disk cd player to the same AUX port on the home theater system. I just set the theater system on AUX and use the switch to select the input I want since I would not be watching TV and listening to CDs at the same time. The switch will allow you to add up to three devices (red/white audio and standard red/white/yellow video, great for old video game consoles or a VCR).

QuestionI need a devise to hook up my outdoor tv antenna to a box and leave my dish hook up so all I will have to do is flip a switch to change from dish to outdoor antenna and I also need a flat cable to use in my window

- Answer Check ur RCA connections on ur TV. Be sure the video wires are connected to the video input on the back of ur TV. I had same problem until I moved the two video connections.

- Answer Optical output port from your TV/device of choice to your optical input to your stereo. Some TV/devices require setup through a menu interface to use optical, but most should work right-away.
