“How do I pair this thing? I turn it on and try to hold it, but I cant get it to show up on bluetooth”

• You don't need to pair it. I was doing the same for a while. You just double tap the top to turn it on. When you see the light, it is on. You can use it right away. Then double tap to turn off when you are done using it.

• It automatically connects once you press lightly twice on the "eraser" end of the stylus. No need for Bluetooth

• Turning the IPad off then back on will allow the IPad to find the stylus. This works for me when I introduce new Bluetooth items.

• Mine paired up right away. Did you try to write something or are you just looking for it on Bluetooth? If it doesn’t work return it for a new one. Sorry I don’t have a better answer.
