“I will be on the French side of St Martin (French electrical current). Will this work to charge cell phone and iPad and also work with a US hair dryer? Are additional attachments necessary?”

I went to Paris and the converter couldn't even charge my Macbook. It's a bad converter don't buy it.

This product converts 240V to 120V. Push the Europe button for 2-prong round.
