QuestionCan you please help me understand the practical difference between this and the one that is a converter? My wife and her mother are visiting France and I want to make sure this is the unit they need.

- Answer The converter will convert the power supplied to a different voltage if needed. Everything we needed and used in France did not need a converter and with the 2 USB ports we were able to charge three phones at once. Product worked great and I would recommend if traveling in Europe because it gave us the flexibility to use in both France and the UK which require different adapters.
