• Safe, yes, but it WILL draw down SOME of the battery power. If you're going to not use it for a few days, you should probably turn it off if you want to maximize the NON-RECHARGEABLE battery

• I almost consistently leave the mouse on (just by virtue of forgetting to flick the switch off) for months on end and have had no problems whatsoever. The battery life lasted a little longer when I remembered to switch off, but otherwise everything was fine.

• If you want the battery to last turn switch to off on bottom of mouse. I have had no problem with leaving mouse on except for battery losing charge.
