No but the stylus and cartridge are upgradable. I updated mine to the Audio-Technica AT-VM95E.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The tone arm is not detachable, but the moving magnet (MM) cartridge is detachable by tools.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is possible to switch ("upgrade") to a more expensive cartridge. Probably best to stick with Audio Technica cartridge another person said he did. However, this is a bit more technical because it requires making certain the new cartridge is angled by the correct amount. See the screws on top over the cartridge shown installed that comes with the turntable. Need to unscrew the two screws and carefully remove the wires on the back of the cartridge. The main reason this is tricky is you have to be careful and gentle with the entire tonearm as it likely has to be moved up in the air to get at the wires (and to put them back on the new cartridge. The easier and probably safest option is to just upgrade the stylus ("needle") to an elliptical one specifically made for this cartridge and turntables that come with the same cartridge. Elliptical needles are said to pick up more of the signal out of the record grooves resulting in better hi-fi outpuit. Replacing just the needle is a lot simpler and probably won't require anything more than removing the existing stylus and slipping on the new elliptical one (the stock needle is conical in shape). The stylus eventually has to be changed anywaiy at some point when it wears out so, other than a bit more costg for the elliptical one, its a smart option.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you are asking if the cartridge (needle) can be replaced, I imagine so. I've only had it a couple of weeks. Try looking up the owners manual online for cartridge details.
