We got it to work but then stopped. Only after unplugging the player for about 5 seconds and back again did it start to work. No idea why this happens. We have only had it for a month.

Please make sure that your Bluetooth speaker is turn on and in Bluetooth mode. 3. Please move your Bluetooth speaker closer to your turntable. Bluetooth pairing failed. 1. Please make sure that your Bluetooth speaker is not connected to another Bluetooth device. If it is connected to another device, turn off the device or delete the Bluetooth connection name from your speaker's list of devices. 2. Please make sure that your Bluetooth speaker uses BQB-certified receive. Bluetooth can’t reconnect 1.
