“Hello Geekers, I am trying to connect a female phone wall jack to an ethernet cable...will a Insignia in-line cable coupler do this? Or does it leave me with TWO female inputs? I would need a male input for the female phone call jack... mediaminimogul”

This is a cat5 to cat5 connector no help for phone jacks.

The coupler has two female ports allowing you to connect two ethernet cables together to extend your reach. Doesn't work with standard, domestic phone lines. Thus, you wouldn't be to interface with a phone line/cable.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You may have already figured this out, but yes they will work with RJ11 (phone 4pin) and RJ45. If you are coupling a RJ11 to RJ45 then realize only then middle 4 pins of the RJ45 are going to be coupled (because the RJ11 is only 4 pins).

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unfortunately, though they look similar, phone jacks and Ethernet cables aren't compatible with each other. Phone lines use 4 or sometimes 6 wires. Ethernet is always 8 wire connection. To my knowledge, there's not an adapter than can fix the lack of the right number of pairs.

Please try again later.Phone lines are different than ethernet, they are not interchangeable, the wire and connectors are different. so if it really is a phone jack on your wall, this is not going to work. The coupler is to connect the ends of two ethernet cables together, so it has a female socket on both sides.
