• This product only works from DisplayPort to HDMI.

• Ok. First of all the wording is a bit confusing in how you want your laptop and display connected. Now the laptop and the display have female connections but are they HMDI, DisplayPort? Now depending on your setup you can get this adapter (if you have a HDMI cable) and go HDMI to DisplayPort depending on your equipment input/outputs.
