Yeah it has to be on for the controller to charge. I have an s20 samsung charger that gets both type c so I use my samsung charger so it stays on all day long.

This is no different than charging your PS5 remote directly from the USB port. If the PS5 is completely turned off, the dock will not charge. If the PS5 is in rest mode, the dock will give constant charging power to the remotes. Hope this helps. Thanks!

I believe you need to leave the PS5 on rest mood. If that doesn’t work check your power options and choose the one the allows for controllers to be charge while ps5 is off.

Yes, the PS5 has to be on to provide power.

Yes - ps5 needs to be on for the controller to charge while connected to it. Otherwise - buy a dedicated controller charging station. Best Buy has a couple of good options.
