Best solution is to buy an inset receptacle box - one that is cut into the wall - or replace the plug on the TV A/C cord with one of the new right-angle flat plugs (or the entire cord for one using such a plug). Hanging the TV 2.5 inches from the wall would not work, unless you use one of the movable, scissors-type mounts or add spacer strips very securely mounted to the wall studs and correspondingly longer lag bolts.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't know about a TV mount with the measurements you need but you can purchase a recessed outlet box designed for that purpose. You can purchase that outlet box at Lowes and they are very easy to install. The recess outlet box will work for what you want to do and they look great. Once installed you can use any TV wall mount you want and will not have to worry about clearance for the plug. I don't know exactly what they are called but just ask department worker at Lowes for a recessed electrical outlet box and explain what you are trying to do and he will know exactly what you are looking for. They work great, I hope this helps and solves you problem.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can always use 2x4 blocks or other spacers to mount the bracket to the wall. You may have trouble finding a mount like this with that type of clearance.
