• Yes, this price point will take several seconds to boot up. The more expensive tablets come up more quickly.

• Yes, but not really any longer than other Android devices I have used. I find the battery still lasts a long time if I use "sleep" mode instead of a full shut down and it wakes up from "sleep" very quickly.
