A:AnswerI gave this tablet premature good review but there's one thing that happened that made me return it and spend a few extra bucks on the Lenovo Tab 2 a850 ....insignia tablets is android version 5.0.1 which you won't see in most android devices..most updated to 5.0.2..because of the WiFi bug that the first lollipop version has...insignia agreed but there is no available update that's why I returned it twice 2 different tablets...sam model...so to answer your question...the buffering or loading is an effect of the lollipop connectivity bug....Google it.... Hopefully you put the protection plan on it so u can get another model
A:AnswerMP4 will play natively on this tablet. However other formats can be played by using VLC for Android. I had some AVI files that would not play natively on the tablet but once I downloaded and installed the VLC app I was able to play them fine.
A:AnswerThe short answer is it doesn't exist. I bought this one to use for development and returned it for this very reason. Insignia doesn't provide the USB driver for development. They only provided support for the standard Android interfaces of content transfer.
Insignia did point me to a driver for the actual chip platform, RockChip, but I didn't have any success with it.
A:AnswerYes you can move apps to the SD card, but the tablet does not get to decide which apps are movable. The app developers and Google decide what apps you can move.
A:AnswerThe Insignia Flex 8 Tablet does not support cellular service, so you can't make cellular calls. You can download an app and made calls using wifi.
A:AnswerNo, it does not have parental controls built into the tablet. There are apps, that are capable of adding parental controls to the tablet, available in the Google Play store.
A:AnswerI don't know for sure but looking at the screen in front of me, like others it's probably the usual 16:8..not many tablet or monitor displays are 16:9 so your video will have slight black borders at the top and bottom. iPad's and other 10" devices are usually 4:3, 7 and 8 inchers are usually 16:8

A:AnswerYes, this tablet should work with the Square Register app. The requirements for the app are at least Android 4.0 (This tablet is v5.0), a 3.5mm headphone jack, and location services. This tablet meets all of those requirements.
A:AnswerThe battery life was fine (24 hours +) until I started adding applications to check weather, play games, etc. Overall, I'd say it's average. Better than my cell phone but not as good as my laptop.
A:AnswerYes, I purchased a Bluetooth keyboard and it works great. I have an iPhone and I love the notes app on it so I downloaded a version for the tablet that I use a lot. I recently added Microsoft word and excel and a odd creator so now I can create documents and can send the Microsoft file or create a pdf and send. The only downfall is the excel program will not let you add graphics to a worksheet.
