Its plastic. The only animals involved died out millions of years ago.

This is not real leather, it's textured like leather but it is definitely faux.

I believe that all materials are synthetic. I would not suggest purchasing anyway, it is an awkward case and it is in the way of the camera lens on the tablet so you have to reposition the case when taking a picture and usually the case is partially in the pic taken still. I would return but no longer have the original package.
