“So the picture showed no holes in the back but ours has a hole in the back of each the 7 spaces; behind the door are two spaces. Would like those closed off so might have to replace the back with a whole solid backing.”

The holes in the backing are for you to plug in the video game counsels to the TV and the power outlet behind the TV stand. That way, you don't have a lot of wires all jumbled up in front of the stand.
