• The piece is very solid when assembled, but I think it is a composite wood material.

• Um, no, friends, it isn't. It's a (nice) veneer over the usual glued-sawdust particle board stuff, like all furniture in this quality/price range is. One look at the back edge of a panel or the hole drilled for one of the "cam locks" makes it very clear. Not to say it's cheap-looking; it isn't -- but don't be fooled into thinking you're getting solid wood here.

• Yes it is!! I just bought this a few weeks ago and the quality is amazing for $150. I keep my 55 inch tv and all my gaming systems on it. you will not regret buying this
