I honestly don't know... my instinct is to say it should. I'm answering because you have an old tv that works well. I just wanted to ask you if the converter isn't a good investment for that reason alone? If it works for the Blu ray it was a cheap fix. If it doesn't, it will work for a VCR older DVD or Blu Ray, etc. Only you know if it's worth it for that alone. It may seem like a bit "too much" but if it diesn't work directly you could still run the blu ray to your computer and use the converter from computer to tv, so it's a stopgap, at any rate.
