“I am trying to connect my laptop to my samsung tv. My laptop has a vga port, however the tv does not. I purchased a Insigna HDMI to VGA adapter as recommended by a sales associate, but this is not working. Am I missing something?”

Hi, As you told that your laptop has a VGA port then you should buy a VGA to HDMI concreter. This is HDMI to VGA converter, so this work when your laptop has hdmi port and tv has a VGA port.
