“What USB cable do I need for supplemental USB power port? My new mac mini only has a HDMI port and my monitor only has a VGA cable. When I used this to convert them, the monitor didn't display anything. I'm assuming I need to use the power port but I don't know what to buy.”

• The power cable can be any micro USB power cable.

• All external monitors need power (power does not come from the HDMI port on the computer.

• From what you're saying, you still need the original cable attached to your monitor. If you have it, and you're still not getting anything, you might need to go into your settings to make sure your monitor is recognized. Hope this helps.
