• TVs have only HDMI Input. This adapter is HDMI Output (laptop for example) to VGA Input (monitor or projector)

• I haven’t tried that way. If you’re asking to connect a TV that has HDMI to a computer with VGA VIDEO CARD. It should work but the resolution would look a bit more grainy/ pixeling since you would be viewing 480 vs 1080. I’ve used it to connect old VGA monitor to a newer laptop with only HDMI video output, and it worked fine.

• I use it to connect a computer with an hdml port to a projector with a vga connection, but it would also work with a vga monitor.
