“How does this handle the resolution conversion? Will it output 1024x768 VGA resolution at 4:3? Will it curtain crop or squeeze the output?”

• On mine it actually maxed out at 1024x768 (although my monitor goes up to 1600x1050) and did center it, but didn't expand to the sides. I do go through an old KVM so that may be the issue on mine.

• The cable itself doesn't do any conversion as far as I can tell. Using it with Apple, the computer and TV / projector seem to agree on a reasonable result. I haven't had objectionable display attributed to the connector. Resolution and geometry can be set on the computer and the projector or TV until you get what you like.
