• No this won't work, as you indicated, but you can go to Google Play Store and download the Cast and Mirror app. If you want a free app, you will have to look around and try a couple. i found one that works very nicely.

• This adapter has a full size HDMI plug which is not the same as USB. And your Roku tv probably doesn't have a vga input. Try connecting with bluetooth.
