Was the drive that you removed formerly your main drive on the computer? Is this a drive that has windows 11 or encryption on the drive? Newer Computers have a security chip in them called a TPM. The TPM stores all your decryption keys for your drive and boot up sequences. When a drive is unmounted from the mother board a security feature locks the drive until it is remounted on the original motherboard. For a more in depth investigation you should make an appointment with your local Geek Squad to get the best possible answer to your question.
