“I purchased this to work with my MacBook Air and it did for a week then all of a sudden it stopped working. I exchanged it for a new one and this one worked for 3 days and now I can't get a signal. Is this something that happens often or just bad luck?”

I thought mine was chewed on by my cat! So I got a new one. Turns out the HDMI cable was the part not working. (Maybe the cat chewed on that!)
