I removed it and it seemed to work better at gripping my desk.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.the plastic film can be removed. The actual material of the back surface is silicone. I've used this product on my beechwood desk with no issues.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The plastic sheet is there to protect the rubber on the base of the mouse pad while in shipment. Once removed, the rubber will hold the pad in place on your desk through friction. There should be no concern about the pad leaving marks or stickiness on the surface.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The plastic can stay or be taken off when you take it off the backing that is on the pad keeps it from sliding around. So it's just whatever you prefer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.it is a part of the pad, to help with non slip. do not remove
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Don't take the plastic off it ruins the mouse pad.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I removed the plastic and I have not had any problems on my red oak desk.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Remove the plastic covering, there is a gel like surface that prevents the pad from sliding around but does not actually adhere to the surface. It is a really nice feature.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I removed the plastic film. There is a sticky back, similar to what people use on car dashboards to hold their cell phone. It is easily moved by picking up the mouse pad so it's not permanently fixed to your desktop.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Plastic on the back is either neoprene like diving suits are made of or a silicone like pad. It is part of the mouse pad and if you try to remove either , will destroy it. These pads do not leave a mark by themselves on any surface. They have the grip for the purpose of keeping the pad in place with the silicone excelling at this. The only way a mouse pad will cause any surface wear on a desk is if there is any abrasive like dust or other substances that get under the pad. As long as the surface is clean where the pad will be placed before hand there should be no problem.
