Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It appears to have a 40 to 50 mile range. I reside near Syracuse, NY and able to receive stations from Utica, NY that is 52 miles east of Syracuse. If you live In a very hilly or mountainous terrain I would suggest be used on the 2nd floor or attic for best reception and near a window. With my old 2009 amplified antenna, was only getting 24 channels some were very low signal strength and the amplifier barely helped. This Insignia Model NS-ANT715 requires no amplification or plug into electrical outlet and I am now receiving 42 channels or 18 more than I did have. Out of the 42 channels only 9 have a low signal strength of 2 out of 5 bars. As 5 bars is best. Most of the channels come in crisp and clear. I was amazed how well this antenna performs. The antenna material is encased in a hard plastic chassis. You could cover it with a clear plastic bag using a plastic tie wrap to seal it and place outdoors providing you have 10 to 20 feet of cable and a 2 female ended coupler. Great price for $19.99 and better if it was on sale.
