• It won't provide Dolby, just PCM, but having said that, the sound does come out on all 5 of my speakers on my sound system, including my subwoofer. Hope this helps.

• Hi! The digital audio format provided by this adapter is PCM. As long as that is the format, the amount of speakers dos not matter. Alexander - Insignia Products
