If you are hooking headphones up to a smart TV directly chances are that you will not get audio to the speakers at the same time. Most TV's will simply only output audio to one thing. If you want to have multiple audio options then I suggest trying to hook these up to the cable box audio out (or headphone jack if there is a separate one) or get a receiver that has multiple audio outs and hook them up there. That should give you the effect your looking for.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Connect the base to your TV. I use the headphone port on my TV and this works well when more than just I am watching a show because it's easily unplugged and just as easily reconnected.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If your TV has rca sound out I'd hook it up that way, otherwise you need to hook it to the cable box.
