“what is a bluetooth speaker for and what does it do? I don't know anything about the use of blue tooth speakers and could you tell me what 'streaming' is when it comes to DVD players. I plan on buying a Sony DVD player from you and 'streaming' is one of the features.”

Bluetooth is the technology that sends the music signal from a device. I use it to play music through a bluetooth enabled speaker from my Pandora app on my Iphone. Great little speaker.

And you can play your music , video, movie without any cables or wires attached. Your device can be in one room and the speaker in another while playing music etc. The best sound is what you pay for. Cheap speakers are cheap sound.
