• It does both. You will need an aux cable to hook up your iPhone. I personally just Bluetooth connect it to my iPhone, that's sorta the point.

• You can plug an iPhone into it using a standard audio cable. I personally like cable connections better.. but with this speaker the blue tooth works great so I generally do blue tooth.

• If you have an iPhone with an AUX input (headphone jack), which you should, then you can run an 1/8in to 1/8in audio cable from the headphone jack into the speaker, as it has an AUX jack in the speaker. You cannot do it through USB as the USB port is only for distributing power, not information. Also, the forward/back and play/pause buttons would work if you connected wired, though the volume will.

• you can use the headphone jack from your phone and a male to male 3.5 audio cable to play the speaker as well as the bluetooth

• Your iPhone can connect to this using its built in Bluetooth connection. However, if you really wanted a wired connection, there is an auxiliary port on the back as well for a 3.5mm audio jack.
