This device doesn’t have a speaker. It will work with the headphones provided but not apple earbuds. I was not able to play an audiobook because mine died one week after purchasing it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.My daughter uses it exclusively for audiobooks. That being said, it’s a cheap one so there is no way of holding your exact spot. She tries to stop at end of “track” and remembers the number to start again. She does great with it and she is 10. You have to use headphones that plug in. (A pair comes with it or you can use your own). It does not have a speaker. It’s just an old school Walkman but it works for what we need.
