we wipe it down after 3 uses.  It washes in the sink effectively. It doesn't really get "clogged" or need much care.

I'm not sure. I used this once. I didn't like it. The ice cubes are so wet that they always stick together. You have to empty it very often. I thought it would be a great thing, but not so much for me. Sorry I can't be of more help.
