It doesn’t use much energy, love it, it just does not keep ice cold. When the bucket is full it will stop making ice until you empty.

You typically would not leave it running all day because it doesn’t have a storage unit. Once the basket fills it will stop producing ice, and the ice will eventually melt if left unattended. This would be something you would need to do ahead of time because in order to stock up, you have to be there to put the ice in the freezer once the basket is full. The basket can fill maybe a cup and a half. Didn’t really answer your question but I hope this helps.
