The ice this machine makes is like a 1-1/2 inch finger with a hole in it. The ice is not clear, but any ice machine of this type would not make crystal clear ice. Some refrigerator ice makers do, but that is a different system (ice tray is filled and then left undisturbed until frozen and then harvested. This machine dips finger shaped freezing coils in a trough with water. The water then freezes around the coils until frozen and then harvested. Hope this helps!
