• This machine makes soft rounded cubes. It doesn't make crushed ice.

• Not sure what sonic ice looks like but these are bullet shaped with a hole.

• They’re more like large marbles on the large setting, I haven’t tried the small setting

• I have only used the large ice cube settings. I’m not sure what sonic’s ice cubes look like ,but the cubes in the large setting are shaped like cute little cups with a hole in the middle.
