The Speaker modules (Left and Right) come attached to one dual cord. This cord is joined together by a thin "membrane" that allows them to be separated depending on your need and how close to the Subwoofer the speakers are located. Think of a "Y" with the two tops of the letter being joined to the vertical line, and being able to make the two tips longer. Just remember you have to have both vertical and horizontal length for the cord to reach the Subwoofer. I have my modules about 4 feet apart an there is still plenty of slack in that cord to reach the Subwoofers 'Speaker In" jack. I hope this helps - please read my new review of this speaker system.
