Unfortunately, it is not. The magnets in the Apple brand cover aren't strong enough to go through the case. It holds loosely, but nothing like having it without the case.

Yes and no. I have the cover and use both. However the magnetic connection is not as strong. In other words, if you want to use the cover as a stand as well, you will have a hard time.

This is compatible with the smart covers. However the magnet does not hold strong to the side as it attaches through the plastic instead of directly to the iPad.
